Shadows of the Reich is the story of Alex Meer, a recent high school graduate planning to attend college in Germany. Meer becomes unwittingly involved in a neo-Nazi plot to overthrow Germany—a plot that extends back to the end of World War II and includes a fortune in stolen treasure, a mysterious, old, bombed- out castle, a wealthy family missing since the end of the war, an old woman with many secrets, and a bloodthirsty need for revenge that places Alex in its crosshairs. It begins when Alex and his best friend Ben arrive in Germany for an extended vacation, and snowballs into a series of events that involve murder, a beautiful young double-agent, a girl Alex meets and falls in love with, a sadistic neo-Nazi and his ruthless boss, and a castle with more secrets buried in its past than anyone suspects. Ultimately, this is the story of a young man’s discovery and confrontation with an unknown past and an identity he never knew existed.
